UNESCO Adopts Resolution Project to Support Culture, Education, Media, and the Recovery of Cultural Properties of Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes the adoption by UNESCO’s Executive Board today of a resolution proposed by Sudan titled “Supporting the Culture, Education, and Media & Communication Sectors in Sudan,” during the 221st. Session of the organization, with full consensus among member states.

The resolution aims to support Sudan in rehabilitating educational infrastructure, enhancing national capacities in media and culture, and contributing to efforts to recover looted cultural property and artifacts due to the war ignited by the rebellion of the terrorist Rapid Support Forces militia. This will be coordinated with relevant national authorities and Sudan’s international partners.

The Government of Sudan expresses its deep appreciation to the brotherly and friendly nations that supported the resolution, and calls on the international community to contribute to the special fund established under this resolution to provide the necessary resources for implementing its provisions and achieving its noble objectives.
